The Pine Ridge Campaign (November 1890 – January 1891) was the result of a number of unresolved grievances which led to the last major conflict between the US Government and the Sioux. The campaign culminated in a battle at Wounded Knee which turned into a massacre. The Wounded Knee Massacre or the Battle of Wounded Knee was the last armed conflict between the Great Sioux Nation and the United States of America and of the Indian Wars.
