Henry Ford's Quadricycle - 2.5 min
Although not the first successful gasoline powered automobile, Henry Ford's Quadricycle in 1896 started a chain of events launching a new industrial age.
He built his vehicle as a motorized, four-wheel bicycle (quadricycle) while others building vehicles at the time were taking horse buggys and adding engines to them.
Ford went on to found the Ford Motor Company where he revolutionalized manufacturing. Until Ford, most products including cars, were made one at a time. Ford initiated an assembly line process where each person performs a part in assembling a vehicle. Then it goes on to the next in line until the vehicle is completed.
