Cuban Missile Crisis
Symposium on Intelligence & the Cuban Missile Crisis - 40 min
In October of 1962, as the cold war continued, U.S. intelligence agencies discovered that the Soviet Union was placing nuclear missiles in Cuba.
This panel discussion was held at CIA Headquarters in Virginia on October 19, 1992. The panelists were prominent members of the Intelligence community during the time of the crisis and give us a first-hand account of how they obtained and interpreted the data about the missiles and how they informed and advised President Kennedy.
